Naruto Sushi in Sint Maarten is the creation of John Wu, a passionate sushi chef whose culinary journey began in high school while helping at his family’s restaurant. Fascinated by the art of sushi, he got professional training in China before gaining hands-on experience in multiple sushi establishments across Sint Maarten and the U.S.
After returning to the island during the pandemic, John took a leap of faith and opened Naruto Sushi in Simpson Bay. Despite the challenges of starting a business during uncertain times, his dedication and his family’s support turned his vision into reality.
Today, Naruto Sushi is a testament to his passion, offering a high-quality dining experience that blends traditional techniques with modern flavors.
The restaurant’s name, Naruto, is a tribute to John’s favorite childhood anime, creating a space that immerses guests in a nostalgic yet trendy setting. This place has so much character! I felt like I was in Japan eating sushi! All of the sushi rolls and nigiri are so yummy! And I loved the chicken fried rice! I am so coming back!!😍
