Buccaneer Beach Bar & Restaurant
“Fantastic location right on Kim Sha beach on the road to Pelican Key, Buccaneer Beach bar can be lively or laidback: the choice is all yours.”
You can use the Buccaneer beach bar and restaurant as a daytime base to enjoy KimSha beach while having access to a Caribbean cocktail or refreshing beer. Or visit for a nighly escape with sea breeze and dinner. Their kitchen is open day and night for you to indulge in freshly prepared dishes.
Owners Jill & Bernard are true travelers originated from USA & South Africa, cliché enough they met on SXM and fell in love with both; each other and the island! Together they set the standards for this multi-cultural location.
And with Dave, Kenan and the team around, the place runs smoothly and you’ll see smiles all-around.
As the sun always shines on the beach; this is a true party central with great happy hours from 4 to 7 pm, and live music regularly in the evenings.
The kitchen serves a multinational cuisine that ranges from American to Jamaican and Italian with subtle Asian, Indonesian & South American influences. Our favorite picks for Lunch and Dinner:
- Jamaican “crunchy” jerk chicken wings
- Hickory smoked “fall of the bone” rack of ribs
- Chicken sate in Indonesian peanut sauce
- Salad with Tuna or Mahi Mahi
With all these great dishes and an amazing happy hour combined with friendly service and entertainment, make sure you enjoy Buccaneer responsibly.
A great place to meet friends or other like-minded people. Buccaneer has its own parking area!
And don’t forget to mention “We Are SXM” for a complimentary home-made Banana Rum shot with lunch or dinner!

This is a nice little tucked away beach and bar with a small kitchen for bites, yet a good selection on the menu. The beach is nicely groomed and they have a small assortment of paddle boats and jet skis to rent nearby. This is also a nice spot to see some yachts coming in and enjoy sailboats off the shore.
If you’re looking for something down to earth eating, in a happing location, that has public beach access and let us not forget drinks. This is the place to visit, certrally located in Simpson Bay on Kimsha Beach. The menu is typical burgers and fries but with a couple of surprises and unexpected influences. Service was excellent and drinks are refilled before I had to ask. Fun & enjoyable place overall.
