Amstel Bright – The Local’s Beer of St. Maarten
Best Local Drinks in St. Maarten 2026 – We Are SXM – Tourist Info Center
“Sip the island’s favorite beach beer – crisp, refreshing, and made for sunny St. Maarten vibes”
Amstel beer was born from the friendship of two friends who wanted to share a great beer. In the beginning, Amstel produced beer in Holland and shipped it to the Caribbean. But in 1960, Prince Bernhard of The Netherlands inaugurated the Antillaanse Brouwerij Brewery in Curacao, and here is where Amstel Bright was invented!
The yellow or golden blonde pale-style lager is usually served with a wedge of lime. Amstel Bright is easy to drink in hot weather and known as the perfect beach beer. Only first-class ingredients are used, maintaining Amstel’s historic premium quality.
The Bright moment: Be “the Caribbean”, be social and not afraid to spark a conversation, embrace multiculturalism, optimism and turn every situation into a “Bright” moment. A great beer for during or after your beach sports, hike, or any other social get-togethers!
