Visit Saint Barths from Sint Maarten – by Ferry or Plane
The most affordable way to visit St Barths from SXM is with the Ferry, the fastest most convenient way is by plane.
By ferry: If opting for the ferry we recommend booking an organized tour in which you are picked up at your hotel, or resort and brought to the check-in point. You check in at 8:45 before boarding the Great Bay Express ferry in Philipsburg at 9:30 for a day in St Barths. With a 45-minute ferry ride, this is the fastest ferry to St. Barths (and most affordable) as from Marigot takes approx 1 hour and 15 min. After arriving, you get to explore this ultimate luxury island for the day before heading back with the last ferry at 6:45. Read more about the organized trip below.
Important note: As the current come from the east most of the time the ferry can be a bumpy ride, if you are prone to sea-sickness we advise you to take anti-drowsiness pills as a precaution. You can also book a private charter to spend a day on the boat visiting some of the nicest beaches in St. Barths.
By plane: You can book a plane from Princess Juliana International Airport or Grand Case Airport, both is a short 15 min ride in which you enjoy the mesmerizing views over the islands! If within budget, this is our recommended way to visit the island of St. Barths.
Visit Saint Barth by Ferry for the day:
Explore the island. It is completely organized, includes pick up and drop off from your stay, and is hassle-free. After arriving, you can go wherever you please: check out fantastic boutique stores in Gustavia, enjoy a cold beverage at Jimmy Buffet’s old hangout, “Le Select”, check out multi-million Super Yachts, or take a snuba boat trip. Chill on one of the famous beaches sipping tropical cocktails.
Watch the sunset from the dock before returning to Phillipsburg. Your transport awaits to whisk you back to your resort.
