Dinghy Dock | Sports & Sailor Bar in Simpson Bay
Best Lunch & Bar in St. Maarten 2026 – We Are SXM Tourist Info Center
“An adventurous Caribbean dive bar where lively bartenders, nautical charm, and playful chaos make every night unforgettable — the perfect spot for sailors & pre-game meetups.”
Dinghy Dock originally started as a hangout and pub for rowdy drunken sailors but word spread about the fantastic food and the well-stocked bar and popularity grew.
Boosting the biggest craft beer selection on the island, ranging from pale lagers and pilsners to imperial stouts, there is a drink for everyone. Meanwhile, the cooks serve up casual but delicious bar food.
Multiple TVs display all the major sporting events, so you need to request your game.
You can call to make a reservation after six, but don’t expect them to answer the phone. If they do, expect obscenities and drunken sailor talk.
Enjoy (We Are SXM) bar!

Sit at the bar and hear tall tales from around the island and around the world. Or release some energy by swearing at the bartender(s), but be prepared for the response, as their staff is trained.
Check out Dinghy Dock’s Facebook page for specials and happy hours they occasionally offer, such as “Taco Tuesday”, “Steak Night”, or “Mussels Special”. Some everyday recommendations:

Food was mediocre, the Mac and cheese tasted like something from you get from a chain grocery store in the frozen section. The fish dip tasted like a can of tuna with spices. The pub sprouts weren’t terrible. The service was awful! Worst on the island by far.
Great place to enjoy a beer and have pub-style lunch. We went twice and enjoyed the burger. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
I just visited Dinghy Dock. Nice ambiance, quick service, big surprise every time food came to the table - it just looked so awesome and tasted even better. I had the burger and loved it!
This place is always packed with cheerful people. The fact that it shows the richness of their food and their exceptional food service. I had a bear and steak. The steak was perfectly good. I love the flavor and it was very well priced! Will definitely visit again!
Had a brilliant evening at Dinghy Dock for my 30th birthday bash. What a lovely restaurant, good food, friendly staff, fresh atmosphere, great menu choices, and very decent presentation. Hope to re-visit soon!
