French Bakery evokes images of fresh bread and sweet pastries, but Chez Fernand also serves pizza, sandwiches, pies, and cakes.
The food is handmade fresh every day with only the top ingredients. The majority of ingredients are imported from Europe, bearing the Label Rouge certification, which ensures that a product meets a specific set of characteristics that establish it as a superior product. This represents the pinnacle of quality in French cuisine.
Creating amazing fresh bread and pastries every day is time-consuming and requires dedicated quality people; the staff take pride in their products and service. Whether you speak French or not, the staff are warm, welcoming, and happy to help you make your selections or practice your French.
The ambiance is cool and comforting, with clean lines and open air. There are multiple seating areas for you to enjoy, upfront on high stools to watch the hustle of the Marigot markets, inside at a table in a quiet corner, or outside in the beautiful European courtyard.

You won’t need a reservation unless you are coming with a big group, then a message in advance is appreciated. Chez Fernand is also known for their cakes which they can custom make for your birthday, wedding or any other celebration.

Très bonne et savoureuse...A découvrir absolument : croissant mangue/passion ou pistache (je trouve le fruits rouges un peu trop acide mais pour ceux qui aiment texture au TOP) fraisier façon chez Fernand (sur commande) et bien d'autres encore..
I have tried all of them in SXM, but this is my number one bakery in SXM. The bread is just super tasty no matter what you put on there, crunchy outside and soft inside the way baguette is supposed to be but how they never make them anymore ;)
A must-try is the Chocolat Buche, it will be one of the best chocolate cakes/mousse you have ever had. We always get the Buche Noel for Christmas but am sure they make something similar year around.
Lastly, they have the 6 euro French breakfast, you can never go wrong with such a deal! The perfect quality for the price, the location, and the always attentive service make this my personal number 1 bakery.
