On the golden sands of Grand Case Beach, Tropic’s Beach Bar was created in 2023 by two cousins, Alain and Francois, with one shared vision. Alain brings over 25 years behind the bar, much of it earned at L’Esplanade Hotel, while Francois is a true ambassador of St. Maarten — still working in the taxi field today, he has spent over 27 years year-round welcoming visitors from all over the world to our shores. Together, they built a down-to-earth spot with a genuine Caribbean feel, where ice-cold drinks, tasty bites, and laid-back beach vibes come together.

Behind the bar, a mixologist crafts signature cocktails like the “Tropic’s Explosion” — a blend of mango, passion fruit, coconut, rum, and blue curaçao with an extra floater — and the bold, Caribbean-style “Lights Out.” On Fridays & Sundays, the grill stays fired up with ribs, chicken & fresh fish, while the kitchen turns out authentic Caribbean dishes and tapas meant to be shared.

Open 10 am to 6 pm Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday, extending to 2 am on Fridays and 11 pm on Sundays. The bar seats 40 inside and 80 on the beach, and groups of 40–60 often reserve ahead to soak up the laid-back Caribbean vibe.
