Welcome to Baratié, a vibrant new hotspot in Marigot where bold flavors meet island soul. Serving breakfast and lunch daily, this breezy open-air restaurant is the passion project of Chef Shane Huggins, who took over the space once run by his mother and breathed fresh life into it.
With years of experience in high-end dining (including as executive chef at Palapa), Shane blends Caribbean, French, Peruvian, and Asian influences into a colorful and diverse menu. Expect dishes that are playful, flavorful, and just a little unexpected—creating an exceptional foodie experience!
The space itself mirrors the food — casual, laid-back, and filled with greenery, creating a warm and relaxed vibe that welcomes everyone from locals to visitors to Marigot. The warmth of the staff complements the flavors and setting, creating an experience that is as inviting as it is delicious.

Start your day with homemade sorrel juice, basil lemonade, or fresh passion fruit juice — and if you’re feeling spicy, don’t miss the Ballerina Cocktail (tequila, pineapple, lime, bitters, agave). Hungry?
Chef Shane recommends a few can’t-miss picks:
- Appetizers: The conch ceviche (possibly the best on the island), Oxtail bruschetta, or avocado toast for a vegetarian-friendly bite.
- Mains: Oxtail tagliatella, Caribbean shell pasta with lobster, clams, and conch (rich and satisfying), or the Chickpea coconut curry with sweet potatoes and plantain is a favorite plant-based option.
